Seva (Service désinteressé)
« सेवा » (Seva) est le terme hindi signifiant « service désintéressé ». Dans les religions orientales et indiennes, « Seva » est un service effectué avec dévouement, comparable au bénévolat. Une des personnes qui enseigne cette pratique est Mata Amritanandamayi : cette femme a été d’une grande inspiration pour moi et notamment dans l’élaboration de mon projet. Mon oeuvre se nomme « Seva », car je désire à travers elle réaliser un service désintéressé. Ne prenant plus le temps, comme avant, de me dévouer aux autres, j’ai fait le choix dans cette oeuvre de réapprendre à donner. Par cette installation, mon intention est de pouvoir rendre heureux un plus grand nombre de personnes de différentes cultures et de pouvoir dialoguer avec elles pour en apprendre davantage sur les valeurs qui sont essentielles à leurs vies. C’est en voyant chaque personne prendre un des éléments de mon oeuvre que celle-ci commencera à naître.

« सेवा » (Seva) is the Hindi term meaning "disinterested service". In the Oriental and Indian religions, "Seva" is a service carried out with dedication, comparable to volunteering. One of the people who teach this practice is Mata Amritanandamayi: this woman has been a great inspiration to me and especially in the development of my project. My work is called "Seva", because I desire through it to carry out a disinterested service. Not taking the time, as before, to devote myself to others, I have made the choice in this work to relearn to give more to people. Through this installation, my intention is to be able to make more people from different cultures happy and to be able to dialogue with them in order to learn more about the values that are essential to their lives. It is by seeing each person taking one of the elements of my work that this one will begin to be born.

Tissu d'Orient
C’est à travers mon travail minutieux, détaillé et réalisé avec beaucoup de finesse que je perpétue à ma façon les traditions artisanales des pays d’Orient. Cette volonté me vient de l’émerveillement que j’ai eu dans mon enfance pour l’architecture islamique et les motifs orientaux. Grâce au verre, je souhaite partager cet émerveillement qui m’habite et qui est la source de mes créations, dont « Tissu d’Orient ». Je montre par celle-ci la magnificence des décors de ces deux arts traditionnels que sont les moucharabiehs et le tissage.
It is through my meticulous work, detailed and realized with great finesse that I perpetuate, in my way, the craft traditions of the Oriental countries. This wish comes from the amazement I had in my childhood for Islamic architecture and oriental motifs. Thanks to the glass, I wish to share this wonder that is my home and that is the source of my creations, including "Tissu d'Orient". I show with this one the magnificence of the decorations of these two traditional arts that are the masharabya and the weaving.
